I’m enjoying my SL midlife crisis. It started last week I visited a store that was about to close and a group gift reminded me about my innocent happiness as an absolute newbie. It sparked a hopeless nostalgia back to those care free… and cheap… first few weeks inworld. SL isn’t big in Oz and even digital people where at the stage of ‘have heard of it’. Most are still at that stage btw. To call me blue eyed when I first logged in is the understatement of this side of breakfast.
So, what to do but to visit a couple of the freebie palaces were so many of us spent our SL lives in our first few weeks? Remember Freebie Dungeon and Freebie Galaxy?
I managed to scare the wits out of a newbie as well. I offered to show her some better free hairs in a store. I shouldn’t have warned her of being too careless about accepting tps from strangers BEFORE she had picked up her hairs, however… XD
I dug out my oldest androgyne skin from eXceSs and had a real SL retro moment… of course including something of Ronja’s, you can’t do this without her things… Her old boots especially.
The top outfit was made up with bits and pieces picked up mainly at Freebie Dungeon. I actually ended up paying 10L for the pants because I discovered that when something is no mod with this stuff, it’s old enough NOT to have a re-size script. I also paid 10L for the only chucks worth looking at, but they couldn’t be re-sized so they fit me without some major surgery so I ended up at In Her Shoes for shoes. In Her Shoes offers her stock up for free with a touching generousity… the perfect place to send newbie friends or visit yourself.
Hehe… I also discovered that I’ve grown vain enough that NOTHING will make me wear the hairs from yesteryear. They’ve even started to charge for them. What I picked up for free in 2008, they now want a few lindens for. Fancy that! The hair I’m wearing is Madison 2 from Analog Dog… bought it while waiting for that newbie that never showed up.
And then, of course, there’s Ronja. I couldn’t do this without her, could I? She must have earned herself a place in SL fashion history with all those designs that has greeted new residents in freebie places. The designs I met seems to be gone, but I found some other. There’s such a definite feel of mardi gras in this stuff I think my midlife crisis will have to continue a bit longer and see what I can develop this into. I didn’t visit Freebie Island after all… and then there’s all the gorean freebies… they have a lot of flimsy colourful stuff as well.
I’m also suddenly curious about Ronja’s present designs, who she is in the now so to speak and am currently stalking her lucky chairs at RDesignS. I only wish my username rather than display name started with C *sighs as yet another C appears*

It wasnt so so hard to spot - thank goodness …you all know how truly abysmal I am at hunts…anywayyy…it was this stunning couch/seat/chaise affair…literally stufffed with poses for males & females…it dispenses wearables for certain animations..classy and high quality…and I absolutely MUST find a place for it in my home !
