#191 Somebody That I Used To Know
I don’t take a lot of pics of my back but I made this pic and I loved it. I was not sure if it was okay to blog it though so I asked my sweet plurk friends and they all said it was bloggable, so I listened and blogged it. I hope you all like it. Now that we are talking about Plurk friends, I wanted to thank them all! A lot of you helped me a lot through some rough times and insecurities. But I also had a lot of laughs and fun times and good talks there! So I just wanted to let you all know that you all mean a lot to me and I love you all!!!
I have been seeing a lot of pictures and blog pics with this amazing headpiece from LaGyo and I couldn’t let this amazingness just sit in my inventory without being shown to all of you! It is so pretty and makes me crave summer and warmth and white spring/summer dresses. Now that my Mother’s Day (RL) jewelry crush is largely over, I’m able to show you the new goodies at Collabor88 + a slew of gorges new hairs + jewels. — Being such a sucker for ponys, I haven’t been able to take off these upside-down flipped “Tisha” ones by Truth; plus check out this color-change “Harlow” briollette beads set by Donna Flora (so glad to see Squinternet Larnia creating new styles again). A new delicate blue lace sleeveless dress by Nylon Outfitters + some shiny gold peeptoes fit my casual girlie mood today.
A closer look at this opal-esque set in an bright indigo blue (shiny pretty things = ohhh ahhh); see the 1st pic above for the golden pearl color, which was 1 of the more delicate hues in the HUD.
This month’s Collabor88 also features this highly whimsical “moving sky” jewelry by League (these tiny clouds actually move! + you get 6 different configurations in the pack), which I paired with new sideswept hair by Clawtooth + this girlie shortie jumper by Hucci (check out these scrumptiously textured ruffles fitting snugly against the bodice).
My friend Moca Loup has also released more of her cutie shortie hairs; I loved this flipped-ends feathered style, featuring a lustrous pearl gem nestled into the side part. Awwws!
It seems warmer climes are finally here to stay in NYC, which means summer’s finally right around the corner. Hello gym, goodbye carbs love + fashionista kisses to all!

I have been following Bouncer’s flickr stream for quite some time and the only logical explanation is well that he is absolutely yummy. A girl can drool, right? I’ll give you candy give you diamonds give you pills
Come with me for a moment on a little journey. We’re going not just into Second Life but into an actual other life, a life where not every girl grows up dreaming about being a princess and wearing a big white whirl of satin on her wedding day. I know, it’s a stretch. But come with me.
In Second Life, people can — and do — get married to whomever they want. It’s kind of nice, actually: SL is pretty open about who gets to marry whom. But in Second Life, if you’re a woman who wants to get married, you pretty much have two options as far as What To Wear: you can go with the Big White Poofy Dress (or its close cousin, the Sexy White Slinky Dress), or you can try to make a tux work. Nobody made options for non-traditional wedding wear: formal clothes that retained some femininity without going all the way to the Big White Dress.
Not anymore.
Today, Monica Outlander of Miamai sent me a present. I know she’s been working on her wedding collection forever, and it officially comes out tomorrow, but she sent me a sneak peek at one piece of it. You guys. Look! Sexy, strong, fierce as hell non-traditional wedding wear!
First off, the texturing is gorgeous. Okay, if you’ve ever shopped at Miamai before, the fact that the texturing is gorgeous will not come as a surprise to you, but I’m gonna say it anyway. The rich brocade is really nice, the lace is lovely, and Monica does feathers like nobody else on the grid. Also, this is Monica’s first foray into mesh (along with the mesh pants she has out at Culture Shock), and as is customary for her, she’s doing some cool stuff with it, creating fun shapes and silhouettes that no one else is doing.
It also comes with shoulder pieces, which I’m not wearing because they got in the way of my pictures and I’m vain, but they look pretty damn cool.
There are a couple of minor flaws, which I have mentioned to Monica, and which may be resolved before the collection goes live. I mean, little things, like the feathers being transparent from the back. Do you care? Didn’t think so. (Scroll down for a rear view, and check out how nice these trousers make my butt look. Yeah, you’re not looking at the feathers, are you? Neither am I.)
This outfit is just one piece of Miamai’s wedding collection, which will be available in the Miamai mainstore tomorrow, May 13. There’ll probably also be some Big White Dresses. Start saving your lindens. It’ll rock.
