sometimes, a girl just needs a dress…
..or two.
i am *not* the girliest girl, not by a long shot, but i can appreciate a dress every now && then. my taste in dresses is usually less.. ruffly and “lady like” and, rather, more… well.. less is more. so i decided to put together two looks for today, built around two short mesh dresses i’ve picked up this last week in world.
the first is from paper doll, which is out for stumblebum this round. it’s skin tight, *just* short enough, and comes in some lovely color choices.. including this fading white-to-pink one i chose to wear here. li’l dresses like this are perrrr~fect for the upcoming warmer months && look just as nice with a pair of high heeled pumps as it would with, say… a pair of wedge sandals and some sunglasses. plus since it’s stumblebum, that means it’s *discounted* (25% off, to be exact!)… which always makes dress shopping that much more enjoyable~
and speaking of discounts… this month’s round of collabor88 rolled over a few days ago. collabor88 is one of my *favorite* sales events and this month’s collection really bowled me over. there were so many cute things there this go ’round, it was honestly a li’l overwhelming! but i *did* manage to snag a few things amidst my bewilderment, including this dress i’m wearing here, from boom. which, tbph, is actually labeled as a long, baggy t-shirt… but to me? it looks like an adorable cotton minidress.. and worked rather well that way (but remember to wear panties, i’m *just* sayin’! 
).
the earrings i’m wearing in both looks are also out @ collabor88, from intrigue co. the dangly charms are shaped like unicorns… unicorns(!!).. and come in sets that were made to mix && match colors. i probably didn’t pick the perfect hairstyle to show these earrings off (but i could not resist wearing this insanely cute style from ploom that i grabbed at culture shock), so you’ll just have to take my word for it. oooorrrr go try the earrings yourself to see! really, really cute.. and i did mention they were unicorns, right? because they are! unicorns!

Pumpkin at The Men’s Dept. Collection, May
Like a lot of guys on the grid, my guy isn’t into fashion, but still complains about the lack of good choices around. He also relies on me to gently persuade him in the right direction and away from the ubiquitous black leather jacket and bare-chested look. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I like a good bare pixel pectoral muscle every now and then. Pumpkin is offering a brand-new outfit, not only at this month’s Men’s Dept. Collection, but also available in their store in four different colors, as well as four different sizes
The thing with this outfit is that is just what it is…an outfit. You get the shirt and pants all in one fell swoop. It’s a brilliant thing, especially for those guys who don’t want to have to pick out individual pieces. And you know who you are. You just slap on that alpha and rigged mesh, and BOOM, you look like a frickin’ rock star. There’s no futzing with your shape’s size, unless you have the neck size of the Hulk. In which case, you got bigger problems then fashion choices.
At least go grab the one highlighted in this post for $99L. It’s a deal because the quality of the product is spot on. You’ll look like you’re wearing Jim Morrison’s leather pants from back in the day (pre-Paris) Yah, I know, I’m dating myself, but whatev. If you like what you see, you can snag even some more colors down at Pumpkin’s main store.
As a quick side note…ladies can purchase the one at the Men’s Dept. as a gift for their man instead of having to lug his pixels to the actual event. Hey, it’s half the battle.

while searching for a pretty, spring-time sim to snap some pictures on, bff vivi && i stumbled upon a gorgeous place called calas galadhon. there were so many li’l spots to sneak a sweet, romantic moment (tandem bike rides.. a hot air balloon!).. and lots of places perfect for taking photographs.. that she and i *totally* felt the love in the air~
shame it was just with my best friend! ;P
at least she and i looked pretty! ehe.
well, we always look pretty.. but still. ahah.
vivienne and i both *really* loved the latest mesh releases from cold logic.. so much so that we both decided to wear tops from the newest set. hers, with the cut-out sleeves and low neckline, is in stunning shades of coraly pink, soft peach && pastel yellow.. all swirled together in a pattern that looks very much like it’s all been water marbled.
she paired the top with a pair of pastel mesh jeans from maitreya in the prettiest baby pink… as well as *two* grabs from the culture shock event — her hair, from exile && her shoes (which were freebies!) from g field. lovely in pink, with accents of yellow.. my bestie is covered head-to-toe in springtime shades and looking fabulous in it~
i, too, was feelin’ the yellow for today.. only instead of pink, i liked the color contrast of this perfect bright blue with it. as i said, my top is from cold logic as well && i *loved* the way this layered top drapes at the waist. it’s flowy and feminine and this color combo really stood out to me.. all of which make for an adorable top that’s easily one of my favorites released thus far.
so i grabbed a pair of mesh white shorts from jane to match.. and a pair of platform sandals from slink, a golden tasseled necklace from glow studio (that’s discounted @ the dressing room blue!) && a soft, side-swept hairstyle from lelutka completed the look.
of course, i had a blast roaming the sim with my bff… but just look at how wonderfully built && landscaped it is. as cheesy as it sounds, it would be *perfect* for a sl date night… *hint hint*… but is just as lovely for some quiet exploration by yourself~

one of my favorite people in sl (and my partnerrrr ❤❤), lars bleac, has come to the dark side. he’s posed for me and been here on my blog several times, but he’s decided to make his own blog.. which makes me so excited for him! now all i need to do is convince bff vivi to start her own blog, and all my plans for sl-blogiverse domination will be complete!! mwahahahahah–

i’m not even gonna *mention* what lars is wearing, just so you have to go visit his blog to find out (insert more evil cackling here), but i can talk about what i’ve got on!
the top i’m wearing here, which is slinky and sparkly mesh deliciousness, is from one bad pixel. i’ve needed an excuse to grab it && posing with the boy seemed like a perfect one.. it’s incredibly sexy and wonderfully made. i honestly could’ve grabbed one of *everything* from one bad pixel… everything there is gorgeous. the baby tux dress too was callin’ my name (especially in hot pink, oh man), but for my first purchase.. i’m really happy with this halter. it makes me excited for more new releases!
the couple poses we’re usin’ here are from purple poses, which has a *ton* of super cute poses (and lotsa sexy ones too! ).. all of which are surprisingly inexpensive. i hadn’t given this brand a chance until i saw them at pose fair this year, but i’m very glad i did! lars seemed rather pleased with the poses, too.. i’m sure the fact that i was in his lap had *nothing* to do with it~
but before i get all mushy here, i’d just like to (quickly!) say that i’m *insanely* proud of lars for takin’ the dive && starting his own blog. i know it’s gonna be fantastic, if his first post is any indication (not that i’m biased or anything….). as long as he keeps up with it ;P i promise you won’t be disappointed if you follow him! if you want his credits, and i know you do, then you’ll just have to visit his blog to get ‘em! ❤

after seeing the pretty crossing currents sim on strawberry singh‘s post, photobombed, i knew i had to take pictures there eventually.
so when bff vivi && i decided we needed to prance around in swimsuits for a few bloggity pics, i knew exactly where to take her!
except, she and i didn’t get photobombed… i kept an eye out for that bird berry mentioned… but i didn’t see it *anywhere*. nothing out of the ordinary popped up in the background of my photos..
so strange, right? where *did* that bird go?

spring means getting beach body ready, right? and vivienne && i thought we’d get a li’l practice in, before swimsuit season *officially* gets here. there are some bathing suits out there on the grid already, which ended up being most helpful while we were putting together our summery looks~
mine, for instance, is from stellar — which just released a whole new collection of bathing suits that are more on the *modest* side. i can appreciate that, considering that the vast majority of swimwear out there right now leaves very little to the imagination, and these new tankinis are so cute! plus, just because i’m a li’l more covered up, doesn’t mean i can’t be sexy.. just look at that peek of booty on those shorts! ;D
vivi went with a more traditional bikini, that she picked up from a new-to-us store called the bishes inc. these ‘kinis came in a ton of color choices && are nicely made.. she and i both really liked the ties at the hips. simple, cute and inexpensive too… which is always nice, ’cause a girl could go broke buyin’ swimwear, for reals~
i’m still not sure where that bird got to, though. perhaps he didn’t like us as much as he liked berry? i’m not sure! but i was expecting to be photobombed by him && ended up not seeing him at all… very peculiar, indeed.

Packed Lunch
An abundance of colour in this post, and it was so much fun to shoot. I am so in love with the seasons palette and so is Whimsy, so much so that she asked Izzie of Izzies to make a nail pack in the seasons colours, to go with all the fabulous clothing doing the same at the moment…and faster than a bullet they were released today. So make sure you grab those as soon as you can, and you will be set for many of the styles released so far, and for future releases.
Culture Shock is about to open tomorrow, and we are all abuzz with talkity talk about the stunning designs and releases about to be unveiled, some are new, and those items that aren’t are always new to someone, so it is going to be a shopfest and a half. I think you need to de-prim and definitely de-script as there are monitors at the landing point to let you know if you are over the limit when you arrive, so do everyone including yourself a favour and take it all off first.
