Culture Shock 2012 Preview – 22769

In about an hour Culture Shock will open and 22769 is one of over 100 vendors with goodies for you to grab. Two of the items available are the African Spring top and the Badu. Both have an very pretty ethnic texture and have a very earthy feel to them. Both items are rigged mesh and available in 4 coordinating colors. I accessorized with the Free As a Bird necklace from Caroline’s Jewelry also at Culture Shock. The necklace comes in gold or silver. I just love the delicate details in this piece, and you can wear it casual or to dress up for a night on the grid.

Glammah shock

Culture Shock opens today. Many of us will spend the next few days trying in vain to get into the venue. I don’t want to torture people with pics of outfits that can’t be recreated, so today I thought I’d (temporarily) freak out my less adventurous readers with a look that shouldn’t be attempted at home. Not without adult supervision. Most of Portia’s outfit is from Plank Couture. The Widowa Arachniae Dress comes with a big wig and a metal spider that sits on your av’s face, but not in a sexy way. It really really really frightened me, so I decided to go with a soothing silver lace mask from blackLiquid and a ginormous headdress from Merengue. The Widowa Arachniae dress comes with an alternate animated skirt that turns slowly around your av’s body. It would be perfect for machinima.

Portia’s skin and tribal makeup are from la petite morte. I chose the palest tone of Voshie Paine’s lavender-painted Hanna skin, but there are two darker shades on offer. (The lighting in this pic is deceptive. It’s a very pale skin.) All three are donation items. The black eyeliner is a gift from BOOM at the Summer Beauty Fair.

One Bad Friday

There’s no secret, I love mesh. I also love the new store One Bad Pixel. I went back for another outfit, so I can see myself owning the entire contents of the store eventually.

I picked out this dress which is oh so sexy and Asian in design. There were a ton of colors to choose from, but I went with turquoise, not a normal color for me, but I think it looks great with my red hair.

The skin is from Curio and the lashes and makeup are from Blacklace Beauty. The sandal heels are from J’s and the cigarette with holder is from Devious Minds. The hair is from Alice Project and the jewelry set is from NHA while the bangles are from :je suis. The rings are a past group gift from Red Mint.

One of the things I love about Second Life is that you can do things here that you can do nowhere else. For instance, this photo was shot underwater. I thought it was pretty cool.

This look was made up with two more new releases from coldLogic, another pair of the trousers in a different color, this time blue. Secondly, I’m showing the coldLogic top Larsen in blue. The jewelry is all the group gift from last month at WTG. The hair is more Alice Project and the skin is Curio. I added some makeup this time, which I normally don’t, so I thought I’d give it a go. Both makeups are from Blacklace Beauty. The shoes are the new ones from J’s and the pose is from fri.day.

Culture Shock is coming May 4th! I have to say that from what I’ve seen, which is not everything, the shopping is awesome. All the creators are displaying new wares that won’t be available at their stores during the run of Culture Shock. And there are oodles of gorgeous charity items with 100% or 50% donations to support Médecins sans frontières (Doctors without Borders). In this post, the exotic Byrn Dress from Bliss Couture and Finesmith’s perfect Safari necklace, with dramatic back detail, are donation items. You can change the metal and the size of the necklace. The sweet G Field shoes and the incredible pose from OOO Studio are gifts! You will also find a gift pair of Wellington boots at GOS and a gift set of cocktail rings at Sn@tch.

There are about a hundred other events starting this week. Before I lose my mind trying to keep track of them, I want to show you LpD’s special edition Natalia skin for Fashion Limited. This could sell out at any moment, so don’t finish reading this sentence if you like it. (Do you see those dappled lips?! I can’t stop staring at them.) At Structure Your Skin, AnnaA is offering her Helena shape, seen here, which comes with a lovely skin. The mouth is muted and the eyes are ringed with a fine line of shocking metallic pink.

When it comes to shopping at Culture Shock, I am following my rule for SLife on a budget: if it’s for charity, there is no budget. That may mean that I can’t have everything that catches my eye. But if it’s going to help others, as well as enhance my digital wardrobe, Ima put my stingy self in a genie bottle and donate till I drop. (It’s okay, stingy me doesn’t need much space.)

coldLogic Makes Me Shiver

Newness from coldLogic and I, of course dug out the black for my first pose of this new release. This whole outfit is love, so it’s hard to find where to start. The top and the pants are part of the new release at coldLogic. I’m loving the double layer top and the pants are quite form fitting.The trousers come in six different colors and all the standard sizes and the Somers top also comes in six colors and multiple sizes, but be sure to check demos, just in case! The shoes I have on here are from Lelutka and are still my favorite after all this time. I really need to find something new to replace them. The bangles and rings are from Red Mint and the hair is from Alice Project. I’m wearing a choker from Chop Zuey, but I don’t believe it shows well. Triple Shot: faMESHed, Stumblebum & The Summer Beauty Festival

In case you didn’t know faMESHed, Stumblebum, and The Summer Beauty Festival are three events that kicked off, or in the case of Stumblebum renewed with fresh goodies, on May 1st. At some point over the next 2 or 3 weeks. I’ll give each event their own post, but I wanted to give a sample of what is available at all three events.

Aura is participating in both faMESHed and Stumblebum. The Class Act Jeans are available at faMESHed. I am not usually a fan of bell bottom jeans but I think these are just too cute. I love the texturing and the little pattern on the side. These jeans also make me very happy that waxing is not necessary in SL. The Class Act Jeans leave very little margin for error. The Boho Ruffle Tops are available in seven colors for Stumblebum, and are discounted 25% off during the duration of this round.

There’s a new skin at cStar and I did a whole look around it, which I’m about to show to you. As per usual, the skin is well done with bold, striking makeup. It comes in a variety of tones and can be found at the mainstore location.

41 – 150

This is my 150th post as a blogger of SecondLife®. It just happened to coincide with my recently turning 41. Strange that I have been blogging as long as I have. It started just to see if I could do it, and what a wonderful hobby has it been! I am grateful for all the wonderful people and experiences that blogging has brought into my life. I decided to keep this blog post short and sweet, like the sculpti cupcake dangling from my mouth that was a birthday gift from a friend.

After cupcakes we went and played on one of the most beautiful sandboxes I have ever experienced. We were both tickled because, though you won’t see it in the pictures thanks to derendering, the sim was populated with four-wheeling, off-roading Furries. Lucky it was a sandbox, because it meant I could one of the new poses I had splurged on at Glitterati for a photo op at this lovely setting. We took the first photo we have ever taken together in the 2.5 years we have known each other and called it a night.

Looking back, it was a lovely end to a lovely birthday, and it has been an amazing life so far and a wonderful 150 posts. Thank you for my blessings and here’s to 150 more posts.

Post: Hello! What’s popping? I passed my driver’s test today. No exclamation mark. I’m trying to remain calm & collected because that’s what’s classy. No biggie. Tell me who’s the boss ninja daddy? I’m the boss ninja daddy. Whoop whoop. Anywho, you might have noticed, if you’re a regular reader of this terrific and educational blog, that I changed the layout. The other one was cool but I got sick of it and I wanted something brighter and cleaner. I like it, except that the pictures aren’t as centered as the other one, but I’ll get to use to it or I’ll just change it back. Whatever. I might just break everything if it pisses me off enough. Also, there’s like a bunch of releases. Milk Motion released a new collection which consist of these super cool harem kind of looking pants. They come in solids and cool ass swaggered prints. I’m telling you, prints are in. Also, Glam Affair released this cool high waist pants, I love high waist. Then there’s culture shock with ufo and these cool new skirts by Irie Campese, the Sleaze Master. And I’ll be releasing a solo CD album next week. It’s mad cool. It’s me singing in the bathroom, you know, gotta take advantage of those acoustics. So that wraps up my section with releases. What the hell is Obama doing in Afghanistan? I wouldn’t do that because I would fear the likely possibility of getting my ass jumped. I didn’t take statistics or anything, but I just think its common sense. Celebrate Osama’s death on american soil, boo. Not up in his hometown. Please, please, please secret service, don’t come after me, I’m just a dumb teenage whore who likes to blab about things that I don’t anything about. Leave me be. Well, go shop or something.

Bliss Couture designer Amutey DeCuir is one of the designer who is on second life for a very long time. This week Draakje almost spanked me that i didnt blog Bliss before specialy since my wardrobe is full of the amazing designs by Amutey.It have been a long time since i was there so i brought my self a bag full of money and omgggg i went insane and noticed that i missed to much (so beware of more Bliss Couture the upcoming weeks haha).

My dress today is named Annarita. A cute, short, one sholder dress. I choose the black and white version. It is a very elegant, stylish dress wich you can use for many occassions. Annarita comes in a several amouth of colours. I matched Annarita with the Valerie. You didnt knew Bliss Couture has hats? Well you will be surprised by every one of them.

I have a few things to offer up to you today. First, the most striking is the bikini and mesh skirt from GCD called Caribe. Next up is the new necklace from FINESMITH that will be an exclusive for Culture Shock. The sandals are from MPP on marketplace, but I wasn’t really impressed. I really didn’t like the texture of the skin of the foot. The stunning tattoo is from Garden of Ku and really makes a bold statement. The skin is from Curio and the hair is from Truth. Summer Strawberry

I’m in between events at the moment. In the coming weeks I have 3 different events I’ll be covering. FaMEShed which starts May 1st; Summer Beauty Festival also starting May 1st; and Culture Shock that starts May 4th. The downtime gave me a chance to go through some recent purchases that I have not had a chance to wear or blog. The Sushmita Mesh Maxi in Dragonfruit from Bilo is currently available at The Dressing Room until Thursday, for only L$70. This is a limited edition color and won’t be available again.
