How do you have a colour named for you?
(Just a quick picture this week as some RL stuff has distracted me.)
I’m always content if I’m learning while being entertained. I look up unfamiliar words played in WordFeud so they are more than letters arranged in a line; it’s hard to forget ‘wox’* played with the ‘x’ in a triple-word corner, let alone trying to recover from a ‘yojan’ crossing several multiplier tiles.
So, being an enthusiastic but slightly ignorant Antipodean when it came to the reference to Alice in Alice blue, I had a great time learning about Alice Roosevelt Longworth and the trend she started for the pale blue-grey named in her honour. I’ve worn this dress before in a blog post, however, it wasn’t part of the 52 weeks of colour challenge and is new (again).
*Wox is an obsolete word for wax
A yojan is a measure of distance of four to ten miles, usually about five
