#191 Somebody That I Used To Know

I don’t take a lot of pics of my back but I made this pic and I loved it. I was not sure if it was okay to blog it though so I asked my sweet plurk friends and they all said it was bloggable, so I listened and blogged it. I hope you all like it. Now that we are talking about Plurk friends, I wanted to thank them all! A lot of you helped me a lot through some rough times and insecurities. But I also had a lot of laughs and fun times and good talks there! So I just wanted to let you all know that you all mean a lot to me and I love you all!!!

I have been seeing a lot of pictures and blog pics with this amazing headpiece from LaGyo and I couldn’t let this amazingness just sit in my inventory without being shown to all of you! It is so pretty and makes me crave summer and warmth and white spring/summer dresses. Cheeky Pea /Alirium/Inquisitive Minds

I was recently told the Sim I had lived on for a year and a half was going to go away, but thanks to my persistent neighbor Maeve all is well. Maeve put the news out there and found a buyer for our lovely Inquisitive Minds Sim. The new owner Amari Maven squared up my long narrow strip of land, and I went for a whole new look, including a fresh house! With all the newness, I purchased all fresh landscaping elements, and I have fallen head over heels in love with Alirium!! The display area on the Alirium Sim is nothing short of genius!! My parcel looks amazing, if you have the prims don’t skimp on trees, go with Alirium!!

I got the notice this last week of a new collection at Collabor88 and I jetted over mostly in hopes of a brand new furniture set, but this amazing Cheeky Pea Hammock set is just perfect. I am never disappointed with Cheeky Pea and mesh furniture is by far the best!!! I also got the mesh bedroom set called Georgie (I got the adult version and all I can say is Isla Gealach you rock!!! Isla has the perfect eye for textures and making things look lived in and not generically new. The animations are awesome, there are couples animations too. I am looking forward to some summer time days inworld right here enjoying my little bit of SL heaven.

Sleep in Dreams

I work almost every, single day now. Sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in the swirl and twirl of day-to-day living and anxiety. Colors start to blend, merge, germinate, and blossom into a few staggered and blurred wisps streaming against the dark soil that has become your mind. Before you know it, Mondays leap over Wednesdays before plowing straight through the spine of Fridays, splattering the remnants of weekday commitments across the warm sands of promised paradises Saturday and Sunday.

I think I needed this little escape.

What I really love about Second Life is that it’s such an excellent outlet for our emotions. We have a place here where we can imagine, re-imagine, and create. It’s a video game, yes, but it’s also somewhere that we can all use to explore our feelings, thoughts, ideas, and desires.

It’s digital therapy for the pixelated soul.

But while it can be therapy, it can also be an all-consuming dream. We play here, lost in our moments, and while we exist within our avatar meshes a whole world of perhaps greater possibility and experience spans out across a vast distance of the possibly never known. I feel like this pixelated world let’s me find myself, though. I feel like I’ve found substance here as well as in my fleshy form, and I’ve realized that dreams aren’t only meant for those moments we’re soundly asleep.

Culture Shock I can just say that I love you! As I told you in my last blogposts this amazing events is raising money for Médecins Sans Frontieres. I am wearing this amazing hair from Magpie, I tinted it a tiny bit to make it match my outfit, but other then that I love it. I love hairs with hats attached because it is way less work to make it fit… Yes I am lazy… Oh and some good news, this hair is actually a gift at Culture Shock, so be sure to check it out. (not sure if this colour is a gift too *blush*)

My pants is available at Culture Shock too from a new-to-me store (is it a new store or am I just a noob?) called Molichino, they have some amazing mesh clothing available. This high waist pants is just amazing and looks great with a lot of different styles. They also have a very cute high waisted mesh shorts available…

Izzie’s released a new skin today! Dailyn is available in 6 skin tones (pale, sunkissed, tan, caramel, deep tan and mocha) with natural make-up. Dailyn is a bit different than my other skins – I added 2 more lipsticks and eyeshadows, freckles come no longer on the skin but on tattoo layers and I added 2 more eyebrow options: blonde and red (on skin).

This month is probably the most busy month in my year of existence. SO much is going on. I don’t think I will be able to let you know of all of the things going on. However, I will let you know of one thing going on: Culture Shock. Urbana is back with some new releases there, like this dress I am wearing. There is also a special version that is a donation item for the charity that Culture Shock benefits but the other two colors that this dress comes in is beautiful as well!

There is something else that I need to mention here though. The bag that I am wearing here, is beautiful but problematic. When I bought it, I thought that it was cute, and there was no demo. I figured that was alright since it states that it comes with two animations. Today, I found out that both bag animations, only work with your AO off, and also you can’t be using a pose either. Just wanted to give a heads up. Sorry for length!

Skins on the right hand wall of the store, are reduced in price by 75%, this means that the skins on the right hand wall of the store (there will be a big arrow) will be reduced to 199L per make-up colour.

The Ashraya Project, according to the official SL event blog, is “an organization based in India which operates with the purpose of providing aid to Indian children in need and abused women through the implementation of various projects.” This project is a sales event with a glamourous twist, all of the designers taking part seem to have a very high fashion edge to them, if you want beautiful gowns and interesting pieces then this event may open your eyes to some designers you had never heard of before it certainly did that for me!
The photos in the gallery below are of any exclusive or donation item that I could find, some stores are still setting up and others do not seem to have a donation item in their collections, yet I have taken pictures and made notes of as many of the ones I could find for you as possible. Also, although I have ordered the pictures there is no set order and if you wander up and down the rows on the two sims you will not miss out on anything. Prices here do vary, but there seems to be a lot of beautiful items here, with a percentage of marked items being given to the Ashraya Charity. There will be a whole host of things going on for this event, not just of the shopping variety, so take a look at Ashraya Project for more of the SL details, or for more details on the Project itself check out; Ashraya for the real world information. Grenade Free Wednesday Got HUGE!!!

Once again it is GFW time, seriously where does the time go, and OH MY LIFE GFW IS HUGE THIS WEEK!!! 30 Stores on the Jersey Shore have jumped into the line-up, some of the old Jersey Shore favourites are there, but also a ton of new stores have taken up residence on the Shore. There are plenty of different things to stock your wardrobes with this week, in GFW’s usual range of styles, for 100L or less. I love that there are so many different styles and pieces at this event that could fit anybody’s chosen look!
A couple of items weren’t set for sale at the time of posting, ILAYA and Virtual Insanity have been contacted so I will try to get prices up asap!!
